Harold Edwards is accusing the Meadowlawn Health Care Center of Davenport, Iowa of wrongful discharge and being dropped off into an unfurnished apartment with only $30 and four days worth of medications. He is suing the parent company, Petersen Health Care of Illinois. Edwards lived at the center from November 2006 through March 2007.

The state Health Department of Oklahoma has cited the Whispering Pines Nursing Center in Norman, Oklahoma, for failing to fully investigate abuse allegations and endangering patients’ health by not providing condoms to a sexually active, HIV-positive nursing home resident. These were just two of the 16 deficiencies cited in a 370-page report released last week.
